My classes are fun, informative, and catered specifically to your needs as a student. Classes vary, based on the student's specific goals, and can be focused on a wide array of subjects from arranging and performing, to theory and technique. Class times also go from between half an hour to an hour depending on the student's level and needs.

I began teaching in 2019, and since then have graduated from the "Conservatorio Departmental Bautista Perucheba", receiving the title "Professor of Piano". I also have completed the intensive elementary piano teaching program through the Royal Conservatory of Music.

I have taught student of varying levels and ages, but mainly specialize in teaching early beginners or intermediate pianists looking to broaden their skills. I also have experience in composing, arranging, and performing and can help students strengthen each one of those skills individually. I can teach classical music, pop, arranging, and also have experience in improvisation and composition. I seek to create a fun environment while learning about this beautiful art!

With my classes, students are given an opportunity to broaden their horizons and dive deeper into the wonderful world of music. I strive to share my passion with others and inspire my students to move forward in achieving their goals.

TEACHING PHILOSOPHY:

As a teacher, I feel a deep responsibility to provide my students with all of the tools they need in order to flourish as musicians and grow as people. As a result, I have two very clear goals for myself and my students.

My first goal is for myself; it is to provide the tools necessary for my students to continue learning on their own. I believe this goal is achieved through constant study, practice and preparation. Because of this, I hold an emphasis on excellence in performance and musicianship, both of which are essentials for a proper musical foundation. My strategy for reaching this objective includes an emphasis on technique, posture, music history, musicianship, and interpretation, all of which are taught and incorporated using games, exercises, worksheets, and discussions.

The second goal is for my students. My goal for my students is to develop creativity; to utilize the tools that I have provided and learn to make beautiful creations with them. This opening of the imagination is extremely helpful as my students learn how to interpret pieces using their own mind and creativity. Musical storytelling is one of my favourite parts of teaching piano, and it is so very fun for students to transfer their imagination to the keyboard! Students learn to engage their creativity through storytelling, music mapping, and personal expression as they convey their talent in their own unique way.

Flexibility is also a very important characteristic for me. I believe a teacher should do their very best to be flexible according to the needs and desires of the student, putting the student’s needs as their first priority. My first class is always an interview which I use to help better understand the aims of the student. One of the most important questions I ask the student it “What is your goal in piano? What do you want learn and accomplish?” Some of my students want learn pop, some of them want to learn classical music. Others just want help with their compositions, while some others want to learn improvisation. My desire is to cater the individual goals of every single one of my students and help them to fulfil their unique desires as musicians.

Besides flexibility, there is another characteristic to which I hold very strongly: a love for music. I love music! My desire to be able to share my passion with others is one of the strongest drives in my teaching. Not only do I want my students to learn technique and scales, but also want them to develop a passion for music that stays with them for life and motivates them to continually develop themselves. I regularly incorporate music history into classes so that my students can understand and be more deeply in touch with the music they play and the men and women who wrote them. I keep classes interesting and relevant to my students in relation to their age, level, and interests so that they can best enjoy their time in the classroom and be encouraged to pursue music even outside of it.
