About Benjamin
I'm a guitar player, composer, and private instructor currently based in Los Angeles. I graduated from Berklee College of Music in the spring of 2017 with a Bachelor of Music degree in Composition & Production, and with more than 10 years of professional experience, I have worked on dozens of studio session and touring gigs, performing in a wide variety of music styles. Most recently, I played a nation-wide tour with Cirque Musica, a Cirque du Soleil style production that had me play as the electric guitarist in the pit of an orchestra. I have taught over 100 students between the ages of 5 and 85 over the last 5 years.

My teaching methods are always tailored to each individual student. With that said, for beginning and/or younger students, I typically start with the fundamentals of the guitar/piano, and begin the initial development of dexterity by reinforcing the fundamentals through teaching songs that the student picks themselves. As the student's ability progresses, I then start relating those primal concepts to the foundation of more advanced concepts that soon give the student the freedom to play whatever they want, however they want. For adults and/or more advanced students, I start by gauging the students current level of ability, and blending it with any particular areas that the student is interested in developing. In effect, this keeps the lessons engaging and fun at all levels of playing ability!
