About Alanna
With over ten years of teaching experience, I have worked with hundreds of students to help them achieve their goals. I specialise in coaching students in the written section of the IELTS exam and preparing for job interviews.
I have taught in Mexico, France, Brazil, China and the UK and I am fluent in Portuguese, Spanish and French in addition to speaking lower-intermediate Mandarin. I am happy to communicate in the aforementioned languages but the class will only be carried out in English. I thoroughly believe that the only way to learn a language well is to be pushed out of your comfort zone so I give my students maximum exposure to English in our lessons.

I base my lessons on what you need to learn and then I come up with exercises that will let you start using the language straightaway. My aim is to get the student speaking for 60-70% of the class.
I focus on building a rapport with my students so that they will not let their fear of making mistakes hinder their progress. I believe in building confidence so I always stress that the more mistakes you make, the better!
Prior to any lesson, I will ask the student what they hope to achieve and then I will focus on that specific goal and give you targeted feedback that will help you to improve.
