About Emerson
Fluency is rarely about speed and almost always about the subtle architecture of sound. I teach French because the rhythm of the language mirrors the discipline of music theory I studied at the Curtis Institute of Music.
Working with 189 students has taught me that structure matters. I emphasize liaison and nasal sounds alongside reading comprehension and writing skills. Simplicity helps.
I integrate everyday phrases for beginners with vocabulary building and idioms and expressions. My goal is to ensure your pronunciation and accent and intonation feel natural. I find it deeply enjoyable to watch a student master complex verb conjugation.
