About Joseph
Hey there, I'm Joseph! I am a prospective medical student accepted to University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences w/ full scholarship. I graduated from Emory University with 3.98/4.00 GPA with a BA in Psychology on the pre-med track. I earned my MCAT score of 521 (130/128/132/131) in August 2024 after 2 months of prep.
I have multiple years of tutoring experience starting from high school, and in college I tutored one-on-one for students struggling in their courses and for MCAT. I have also tutored high school students on how to analyze scientific papers in writing their own literature review journals.
Additionally, I have extensive experience working at Emory's National Primate Center as a research assistant. My long-term involvement in research design, methodology, and academic writing has been instrumental in ability to understand MCAT's science-heavy passages, and integrate those points into my teaching.

My teaching style is straightforward and personalized. When I meet a new student, I start with a brief consultation to get to know them, understand their goals, and tailor a tutoring plan that fits their specific academic needs. I will pinpoint gaps in understanding and develop personalized study schedules, and provide a master document documenting all resources used and discussions we've had, to be used to continue self-learning.
If you are struggling with sciences on MCAT such as C/P and B/B, I will guide you on how to approach them, read their graphs, figures, and methodology, and teach concepts quickly and efficiently. Expect in-depth guidance on how to approach CARS and P/S passages, and as a Psychology major, I can provide thorough instruction on P/S content.
