About Ridwan
As a psychology tutor, I strive to help students understand themselves and others better, develop critical thinking skills, and gain insights into human behaviour. Teaching psychology enables me to contribute to students' personal growth, empowering them to make informed decisions and navigate their lives effectively. Sharing my knowledge and expertise in psychological theories, research methods, and practical applications allows me to help students build a strong foundation in the subject.
Guiding and mentoring students in exploring different areas of psychology is incredibly rewarding. I appreciate how psychology fosters critical thinking and a scientific approach to understanding behaviour, and I enjoy nurturing these skills in students, equipping them for success in various aspects of life.

In the field of psychology, there is a wide range of topics and concepts. Subjects I can cover include introduction to Psychology: an overview of psychology, including its history, major theories, and research methods.
Research Methods: Experimental design used in psychological research and how to design studies, collect and analyse data, and interpret research findings. This area includes knowledge about ethical considerations in conducting psychological research.
Biological Psychology: The biological basis of behaviour and mental processes. This includes the structure and function of the brain, neural communication, genetics, and the influence of hormones on behaviour. We can also cover topics such as sensation and perception, sleep, and the impact of drugs on the nervous system.
Cognitive Psychology: This focuses on understanding mental processes such as attention, memory, perception, problem-solving, and language. Cognitive theories and models explore how cognitive processes contribute to human behaviour.
Developmental Psychology: This examines the psychological changes that occur across the lifespan, from infancy to old age. This includes various developmental theories, including cognitive, social, and emotional development. Additionally, we can look at attachment, moral development, and the influence of family, peers, and culture on development.
Social Psychology: How individuals' thoughts, feelings, and behaviours are influenced by the presence and actions of others. This also covers social cognition, social influence, group dynamics, attitudes, and interpersonal relationships. Furthermore, we can review topics like prejudice, conformity, and social perception.
Abnormal Psychology: A focus on understanding psychological disorders, their causes, assessment, and treatment. This topic is for diagnostic classifications, such as the DSM-5, and various psychological disorders, including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and personality disorders.
Personality Psychology: This area of study examines the different theories and approaches to understanding personality and individual differences. This includes personality traits, assessments, and research methods used in studying personality.
Applied Psychology: This explores the practical applications of psychology in real-world settings. Students may study areas such as clinical psychology, counselling psychology, organizational psychology, forensic psychology, health psychology, and educational psychology.
We can tailor each lesson to your syllabus accordingly, collect goals and feedback at the end.
