About Oliver
I have worked in colleges and schools for 26 years as both a teacher and manager, working with a broad spectrum of ages and ability levels on many different courses. I am also a published poet and writer with three books to my name, currently studying for a PhD in English and Creative Writing having achieved my MA in Creative Writing in 2023. I am also a music teacher who brings a creative, sensory approach based on music, sound and interaction to my sessions which are all about nurturing expression, reducing anxiety through fostering a calm environment and enhancing self-esteem.

I am a highly experienced and versatile teacher who can adapt my lessons according to the student's needs. I can teach English and Creative Writing to graduate level, communicating effectively from a long-term knowledge of literature and language and the experience of a successful writing career. I can also work with special needs students with complex and/or sensory needs, having worked as a teacher and manager in colleges and special schools for 26 years. I can bring a specialist, differentiated approach that incorporates sign-language, symbols and assistive technology for students who need support with their communication.
