I am a 5th grade teacher at a classical education school and a published author who is passionate about reading and writing. An avid reader and writer myself, I grew up in Maryland and have now planted roots in North Carolina, and I cannot wait to help you grow in your writing with confidence and skill.

My lessons are warm, supportive, and highly personalized, blending proven classroom strategies with a published author’s real world writing experience. I teach writing step by step, breaking big ideas into clear, manageable skills so writers do not just finish a piece of writing, they understand how to create it with confidence and purpose.
A typical lesson begins by identifying your goals, whether it is an assignment, a genre, or a specific skill you want to strengthen, followed by targeted instruction, guided practice, and hands on writing time. We might brainstorm ideas, organize thoughts, strengthen sentences, or revise drafts together, and every lesson ends with clear takeaways you can use independently.
What sets me apart is my ability to meet writers exactly where they are. As a published author and full time Reading and Writing teacher, I specialize in building strong foundations, helping hesitant writers gain confidence while also challenging advanced writers to grow their voice, structure, and style. I do not just correct writing, I teach why changes matter so growth lasts beyond the lesson.
Lessons are for writers of all ages and levels and focus on Narrative Writing, Persuasive Writing, academic writing, and College Essays. I also work from the ground up on fundamentals such as sentence structure, organization, and clarity, offer detailed proofreading on already written work, and provide thoughtful editing and revision to help every piece shine. Whether you are learning to love writing or preparing an important essay, my goal is to help every writer feel capable, confident, and proud of their work!
