About Albertine
I have taught creative writing at the undergraduate level for three years, and have tutored academic writing for two. In 2024, I won the University of Florida's Excellence in Teaching award, and many of my students have gone on to publish work in literary journals. My first novel, The Body Builders, will be published by Bloomsbury in Spring of 2026.

I am a rigorous and encouraging teacher, who specialises in helping students find their own voice. Creative writing is partly about confidence, and partly about knowledge - I help with both simultaneously, allowing my students to grow into their writing.
My lessons are for anybody who wants to explore their creative voice. If you have an unfinished manuscript you need help with, or ideas for stories that you don't know how to start, I'm the right person for you.
My hour-long lessons are tailored to individual students, based on what that student needs. They might involve going over an already-existing text, or writing the first paragraph of a short story. We may also analyse texts that I assign, by authors including Denis Johnson, Ernest Hemingway, Natalia Ginzburg, or Philip K Dick.
