About Christina
Twenty-five years of experience both teaching and tutoring began when I was an undergraduate at the University of Arizona. English literature, rhetoric and composition are my personal passions but I have extensive subject matter experience in all English Language Arts from phonics to creative writing, grammar and literary analysis as well as test prep for ACT, SAT, OLSAT, GED and I am comfortable working with all skill levels and grades from Kindergarten to Adult Education.

My teaching methods depend on who I am working with. I truly believe that people rarely learn exactly the same for every subject and that anything can be learned if the material is simply delivered for that students preferred learning style. The main thing that I believe sets me apart as a tutor is a wealth of patience and my unwavering intention to see my students succeed both in the classroom and in their future educational pursuits. One thing I know is that everyone benefits from visual aides and the more reality you give, the more likely someone is to study with the goal of application rather than rote, memorization just to "pass" a test.
I have always loved learning but that is because I was lucky enough to have great instructors from elementary school through college. Education has always been the great equalizer and the true road to a successful and independent future for those who are willing to work for it. It is not the guarantee of success but the guarantee of opportunity that is always possible if we remain teachable and interested.
