About Elizabeth
Hi, I’m Elizabeth, a passionate (and very friendly!) Literature Extension specialist currently studying English Literature at the University of Queensland, where I was the recipient of the 2025 Lizzie Heal-Warry Prize for Literature!
I graduated with a 96+ ATAR and achieved 99% overall in Literature Extension, including 100% on both the IA3 and External Exam. Alongside this, I received over 95% in all of my subjects. Since then, I’ve continued to deepen that knowledge at a university level to not only achieve incredible results but to teach exactly how I achieved them.
One of the most rewarding parts of my experience with Literature Extension has been being invited back to my high school by my former teacher to work with current students. In these sessions, I’ve helped refine their responses and provided detailed, criteria-based feedback. This opportunity is both something I enjoy greatly and a reflection of both my results in the subject and my ability to clearly communicate what’s required for top-band work.
Literature Extension is a uniquely challenging subject. It requires you to think conceptually, engage with complex theoretical ideas, and craft highly controlled, original arguments — all while meeting very specific (and often quite subtle) marking criteria.
I specialise in helping students do exactly that.
- I have a deep knowledge of literary theory and concepts, but most importantly, I can help students break them down into clear, usable ideas
- I’ve studied QCAA subject reports and marking guides in detail, so I know what examiners are actually rewarding
- I can show you how to move from a strong response to a top-band, 35/35 level answer
Just as importantly, I’m known for being warm, approachable, and genuinely supportive. My lessons are designed to feel calm and collaborative, because school is stressful enough!

If you’ve ever felt like:
“I understand the text, but I don’t know how to make my ideas sound sophisticated”
“My essay is good… but I don’t understand why it’s not quite hitting the top marks”
That’s exactly what I help with. All lessons are deeply tailored to what the student needs help to feel confident in, whether that’s in understanding the theories or writing exceptional essays.
I offer targeted, high-level support for:
- IA1, IA2 & IA3 — developing, refining, and perfecting your piece
- Building conceptual, sophisticated arguments
- Integrating literary theory in a way that feels natural and purposeful
- Writing with the level of control needed for top-band responses (up to 35/35)
- Unseen analysis and external exam preparation
- Understanding QCAA marking criteria in depth
Feedback from students:
“You helped me get my first ever A in English!”
“You have no idea how much your feedback has helped on my IA3.”
“You are a lifesaver.”
“Elizabeth really helped me improve my Literature head-and-shoulders above what it would have been”
I also offer detailed written feedback on Literature Extension assignments (including IA3), with in-depth marking and annotations. Feel free to message me for more details.
If you’re aiming for top marks or just want to feel more confident and in control of your writing, I’d love to help. Feel free to reach out for a chat
