About Jan
I am a DBS-checked, qualified, and experienced primary school teacher with a passion for supporting children's learning and development. I have taught across both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, gaining experience with whole classes as well as small, augmented groups designed to support children who may find mainstream lessons challenging. I have extensive experience working with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), using a tailored approach to meet their individual needs. I incorporate concrete resources and hands-on strategies to ensure that learning is accessible, engaging, and effectively embedded. With my background and expertise, I am committed to providing the right support to help each child thrive.

I am a passionate and flexible tutor with a deep understanding of individual learning needs. I specialise in working to address learning gaps, promote a love of learning, and stretch and challenge students to reach their full potential. My lessons are carefully structured to ensure progress and understanding. Each session includes: Recall activities to review prior learning. Assessment for learning to check students' understanding during the lesson. Formative assessment to identify and correct misconceptions as they arise, ensuring that no child is left behind. This approach ensures that learning is both targeted and effective, giving students the confidence to succeed and build a lasting love of learning.
