About Rachel
I’m an experienced Biology tutor based in Sheffield, dedicated to helping students improve their grades and confidence in the subject. I have a degree in Medical Science and 15 years of teaching experience across both state and independent schools in the UK and internationally. I have a proven track record of my students achieving grade 9s/A* with many going on to study at top universities and courses such as Medicine.
Alongside classroom teaching, I have been tutoring for several years, tailoring lessons to individual needs. I am fully DBS checked and trained in safeguarding. I also have experience working with students applying to Oxbridge and Medicine/Dentistry and can help with applications and interviews.

I take a friendly, supportive approach designed to boost confidence while ensuring strong academic progress. My focus is on building a solid foundation of subject knowledge through recall strategies that strengthen memory. I then guide students through structured exam practice to apply knowledge, refine technique and develop familiarity with mark schemes.
I enjoy making complex ideas accessible and believe it’s important for people to learn about Biology in everyday life e.g. how vaccines are developed.
I provide 1-hour lessons for GCSE (AQA), IGCSE (Edexcel), or A-Level Biology (AQA). I look forward to chatting with you soon.
