About Millie
Hello, I'm Millie, a qualified English teacher and tutor with a passion for helping students develop confidence, independence and academic success.
Having grown up and been educated in the UK, I have a strong understanding of the British education system and the skills students need to succeed in English Language, English Literature and school entrance examinations. I work with students from a wide range of backgrounds, including those studying in the UK and internationally.
My approach combines high expectations with warmth, nurture, patience and encouragement. I believe every student can make excellent progress when they feel supported and understood, and I take pride in building positive relationships that help learners develop both their skills and self-confidence.
I specialise in GCSE, IGCSE and A-Level English, as well as 11+ and independent school entrance preparation. Whether a student is striving for top grades, preparing for important examinations or looking to strengthen their literacy skills, I tailor every lesson to their individual needs and goals.
As a professional educator, I am committed to providing well-planned, engaging and effective lessons that challenge students while helping them enjoy the learning process. My aim is not only to improve results, but also to foster a lifelong appreciation of reading, writing and critical thinking.

I am a qualified English teacher who offers engaging, supportive and personalised online tuition in English Literature, English Language and British school entrance preparation.
My lessons are tailored to each student's individual needs, strengths and goals. Whether a student is aiming for top GCSE or A-Level grades, preparing for independent or grammar school entrance exams, or simply looking to build confidence in English, I create a calm and encouraging learning environment where they feel comfortable asking questions and developing their skills.
I believe that students make the most progress when they understand how to think critically and independently. My teaching combines clear explanations, guided practice and constructive feedback, helping students develop strong analytical, reading and writing skills. For examination students, lessons focus on exam technique, essay structure, close textual analysis and building confidence with challenging texts. For 11+ students, lessons develop comprehension, vocabulary, creative writing and verbal reasoning skills.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes long and are delivered online using interactive resources and shared documents. Each session is carefully planned to ensure students leave with a clear understanding of what they have learnt and what to focus on next.
I teach students from primary age through to sixth form, including 11+, GCSE, IGCSE and A-Level learners. I also welcome international students studying British curricula, including those based in Hong Kong and elsewhere around the world.
As a qualified teacher, I combine high academic expectations with a nurturing approach, helping students not only achieve strong results but also develop confidence and enjoyment in English.
