About Gilbert
I taught English literature and language for three years. I have worked with students of all ages and ability levels, from Year 7 students to those preparing for their exams. I will tailor the lessons to the exam board requirements. For those learning English as a second language, I can help you prepare for the common English language exams.
To make the lessons fun and engaging, I will match your interests to the content of your lessons. I know how important it is when you find engaging subject matter to focus on. I would also love to make suggestions of books you might like because this can superhcharge your learning.

I use global affairs, politics, and culture to spark your interest, making every lesson engaging. Using authentic sources, we will examine big and small ideas. I aim for you to be so interested in topics of discussion that you don't notice you are learning English. My love for the words we find will bring English’s complexity to life.
You are, of course, welcome to bring your own materials that you might be studying or using for work that we can pick apart and learn from.
