About Catherine
English is my mother tongue, as I was born in the UK in an English speaking family, but I grew up in France, and studied in the international school system. After studying literature in France (classe préparatoire littéraire), and completing a Master's degree in English Literature, I passed the CELTA (Certificate of English Language Teaching for Adults), then the Agrégation.
I taught in a general high school in France, and therefore know the syllabus for the French secondary system well.
Since 2018, I have been living in London, where I give English lessons for students of all levels, and of all nationalities.

I now have more than seven years of experience teaching English, and always adapt to the needs of each of my students. My lessons are always structured around a specific goal, and I provide detailed documents as well as additional activities to do outside of lessons, in order to encourage student autonomy.
My goal is for each student gets as much as possible out of each lesson; this is why this time is devoted above all to speaking ans writing activities. I know how to make students push themselves to go further, although I am careful to maintain a reassuring and encouraging environment: confidence is absolutely key in their progress!

Je travaille avec Catherine depuis 1 an et comme tous les ados à qui elles donnent les cours j'en suis ravie.
