About Catherine
English is my mother tongue as I was born in UK and my family is English speaking, but I grew up in France in the international school system. After studying English Literature in France, I passed the CELTA diploma (Certificate of English Language Teaching for Adults) and the "Agregation" in order to teach in a high school in the South of France. I currently live in London, where I have been teaching English (mainly online) since 2018:
-Conversation lessons on various subjects (news, films, books… I adapt my content to what you are interested in)
- Professional English courses (oral and written expression, scenarios and application exercises)
- Academic support, for secondary pupils
- Preparation of language exams (IELTS, TOEFL)
- Preparation of professional job in English
J ' I now have over seven years of experience teaching English, and know how to adapt closely to the needs of each of my students. My classes are always structured around a very specific goal, and I provide detailed documents as well as additional activities to do outside of class, in order to encourage student autonomy.

My goal is for each student to get the most out of every lesson; this is why this time is spent above all on speaking and writing. I know how to push students to continually improve, while creating a reassuring and encouraging environment, confidence being a key factor in their progress! I am very much used to online teaching, and to the various tools to offer you complete and interactive courses:
-Videoconferencing tools such as Zoom, Hangouts / Meet, Jitsi, Skype
-Interactive application exercises, videos with comprehension questions integrated, collaborative documents (eg Google Docs) to work on written expression…
I offer the first class session, which will allow us to get to know each other. I can assess your level, and understand your needs. You can also get an idea of my way of working. Together, we can build a personalised course outline.
