About Laura
I believe that learning should be fun, functional, and goal-driven! As a qualified teacher and speech therapy assistant, I know that students of all ages learn best when they have clear goals and a guide who works with them, using effective tools and strategies for each student. I empathize with the learners' needs and use feedback to not only give students encouragement and knowledge of how to improve, but to improve my own future lessons. I look forward to supporting you in becoming a more confident and fluent communicator!

In my lessons, I use curated materials based on the current goals of my students, or a pre-selected curriculum, as preferred by the student. I often use the 3 P's method (present, practice, and produce) to introduce a concept, practice together with more drill-based activities, then give students an activity where they use what they have learned in a relevant context (role-play, writing tasks, etc.). As a speech and language therapy assistant, I also have experience helping clients improve the clarity of their speech and so I provide students with simple tips on how to improve their communication through their articulation, fluency, and tone.
