About Amanda
I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Sciences and a TEFL certificate. I have been teaching English online for 2 years and I've had the privilege of working with several Chinese companies. I've had the experience of working with children from the ages of 5 upwards and adults of various ages. The most frequently asked question that I get is “why did you get into teaching?”, the answer is very simple, I come from a very strong background of teachers, my mom is a teacher, my dad was a teacher and I was a tutor at university. Teaching is something that runs in the blood and that's why I enjoy it so much.

When I'm teaching I like to use a lot of TPR (Total Physical Response) especially with people that have just started learning the language. I also find the usage of props to be very effective especially with the young ones, it also keeps them entertained.

Details
The rates will vary if I have to travel to the student's home, that will depend on the amount that I will use for transportation. Students that cancel 8 hours in advance will not be charged for the lesson however, students that don't cancel 8 hours in advance will be charged 50% of the fee.
