About Qianyu
Hello! I’m Qianyu, a qualified Mandarin teacher with around five years of teaching experience in UK state and independent schools.
I have taught Mandarin to students from KS3 through to GCSE and post-16, working with students of different ages, abilities and learning goals. I particularly enjoy helping students build their confidence in speaking Mandarin while developing strong reading, writing and grammar skills.
I became a teacher because I enjoy seeing students make progress and discover that Mandarin is much more manageable and enjoyable than they initially expect. I believe that learning a language should be encouraging and rewarding, while still providing students with the structure and challenge they need to succeed.
As a teacher, I am patient, approachable and organised. I take the time to understand how each student learns best and adapt my lessons accordingly. Whether you are learning Mandarin for school, preparing for GCSE or A-Level exams, or simply want to learn Chinese for yourself, I would be delighted to help you achieve your goals.
I also enjoy sharing Chinese culture alongside the language, as I believe understanding the culture can make learning Mandarin more interesting and meaningful.
