About Alice
I am a qualified and experienced secondary school English teacher, with a proven track record of achieving results. I have extensive knowledge of English literature and English language and can tutor secondary school students of all ages. As I currently work as an English Curriculum Lead, I have current and relevant knowledge of pedagogy and the curriculums and exam boards that students cover at secondary level.
As well as my teaching qualification, I have a degree in English Langauge and Literature from Oxford University (2:1) and the passion and subject knowledge to teach a huge range of literature texts. I also have a Masters (Distinction) in Children's Literature from Goldsmiths, University of London.
In addition to teaching experience, I also believe in the importance of providing tailored one to one support. I enjoy planning tutorials that make learning as engaging and as relevant as possible, matching each session to the needs of individual students to help you get the most from each session. I am a very friendly and approachable tutor and believe firmly in the power of making mistakes! We will work together to keep pushing ideas to the next level and developing both precise exam answers as well as the knowledge and skills needed to be successful in all walks of life.

Alice is an extraordinarily hard-working and passionate teacher. She has a strong track record of helping students of all abilities to get great results. In addition to this, she has also almost completed a 2-year part-time Masters in Children's Literature in order to further her interest and passion for literacy. Alice is a teacher who can not only get students successfully over the finish line, but can do it in a manner which inspires a love of the subject. Prior to becoming a teacher, she worked for over 2 years at The Access Project, from which she has extensive tutoring experience.
You could not find a more dedicated, knowledgeable and genuinely lovely tutor, and I couldn't recommend her highly enough.Alice tutored one of my students in English Literature A Level for a year.
