I have had the chance of meeting Amelia while studying abroad. Knowing how difficult it is to immerse yourself in a new country, a new language, I have always been amazed by her fine knowledge about French culture and her ability not only to speak French fluently, but also to understand it even when spoken at a high pace or by multiple people at the same time – both situations being common enough when she visited me in France.
In a way, Amelia has been my teacher since I met her: she answers my endless questions (about an English word or concept) with patience, gives me personal recommendations about readings in English that I have never not enjoyed, and has helped me on several occasions by proofreading my assignments or translating from English to French excerpts from a text that I had trouble understanding.
I believe anyone who has the chance of meeting her and being her student will be as thankful and happy as I have been since I stumbled upon her in the university library.

Amelia is a really engaging and dynamic teacher, who is kind and empathetic, particularly with students who are struggling or have SEN. She builds a great rapport with students and helps make the subject relatable and accessible to them. Her teaching of grammar concepts is really clear and student-friendly and I have seen her enabling students to experience that 'lightbulb moment' thanks to her clear explanations.
