About Johanna

I am originally from Liverpool but have been teaching in London for 10 years.

I love teaching because I am passionate about helping pupils reach their potential and develop a passion for learning. I base my planning on identified gaps in knowledge and tailor lessons to pupils’ needs.

About the lesson

I am a qualified primary school teacher with ten years teaching experience. I have taught from EYFS to KS2. I use fun and humour in my teaching and try to make learning memorable for pupils. My lessons start by recapping prior learning, modelling concepts, guiding practice and then providing opportunities for independent practice. I make sure we regularly recap learning to secure it in pupils’ memory.

I discuss with pupils and parents to find area that pupils need to develop so that I am able to target provision to have maximum impact.

I have considerable experience teaching children with SEND and I always adapt my teaching to the needs of pupils. I tutor all subjects, including English, Phonics, Maths and wider curriculum. I have a secure knowledge of the national curriculum requirements and have specialist knowledge in Primary Maths.

I have Level 1 and 2 Makaton training.
