About Megan
I am a UK-qualified primary teacher with over 15 years’ experience as a whole-class teacher, having taught from Year 3 to Year 6 (Grades 2–5). I have successfully prepared children for SATs in the UK and MAP testing internationally, ensuring they reach their full potential with confidence. For six years I worked in UK schools as both Year Leader and Curriculum Leader, before moving abroad in 2016 to teach in some of the most respected international schools in Asia, North Africa, and Eastern Europe. My background demonstrates not only a deep understanding of the National Curriculum for England, but also the IB PYP and American Core Standards, making me highly adaptable to different learning systems. Who My Lessons Are For
I specialise in teaching children aged 8–11 (Upper Primary / KS2 / Grades 3–5) in subjects including English literacy and maths. My lessons are suitable for:

Qualifications & Experience
I am a UK-qualified primary school teacher with 15 years of experience teaching in the UK and international schools. My background includes teaching the National Curriculum for England, the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP), and the American Core Standards. This international experience means I can support children from different educational systems and help them transition smoothly between curriculums.
My Approach to Tutoring
I believe learning should be engaging, supportive, and tailored to each child’s individual needs. My teaching style is supportive, using a mix of questioning, games, discussion, and problem-solving activities to spark curiosity and build confidence. I encourage students to take ownership of their learning, while ensuring they feel safe to make mistakes and learn from them.
I always begin by meeting a child where they are in their learning—understanding their current strengths, challenges, and priorities—and then working step by step towards agreed goals. This ensures lessons are both relevant and motivating.
Lesson Structure & Length
A typical lesson lasts 45 minutes with a balance of explanation, guided practice, and independent tasks. I adapt the pace depending on the student’s focus and needs, and continually assess learning to ensure any misconceptions are addressed.
My goal is to help every child feel confident, capable, and motivated to succeed.
