About James
I am a Secondary School Science teacher (with Qualified Teacher Status), with two years teaching in a school. Prior to this I spent 6 years working for Scottish Water as a microbiologist after 4 years studying and achieving a BSc 2:1 (Hons Infectious Diseases) degree from the University of Edinburgh.

I teach using Rosenshine Principles, ensuring concepts are modelled effectively, worked through thoroughly, before giving students the opportunity to practice new skills independently. This way I can slowly build students knowledge base using scaffolded and "chunked" methods. I believe in using praise often and supporting and encouraging my students to develop to reach their academic goals.
