About Genevieve
I am a Qualified Secondary Mathematics Teacher (PGCE) with a First-Class Honours degree in Biomedical Science and I am currently a 4th-year medical student. This unique combination of teaching experience and strong academic background allows me to break down even the most challenging maths topics in a clear, structured, and easy-to-understand way.
My lessons are designed to build confidence, close knowledge gaps quickly, and turn confusion into exam success. I focus on simplifying complex concepts, strengthening core foundations, and teaching the exact methods students need to gain marks in exams. Every session is tailored to the individual, whether the goal is passing GCSE, pushing for grade 9/A*, or preparing for entrance exams.
I have extensive experience tutoring students from Key Stage 2 through to GCSE and A-Level, including those who have lost confidence in maths or need rapid improvement. My approach is supportive but focused, ensuring students stay engaged while making consistent, measurable progress.
Sessions are structured, results-driven, and designed to deliver real improvement in both understanding and exam performance.

My tutoring approach and teaching methodology:
I focus on building strong conceptual understanding first, rather than relying on memorisation or rote methods. I break topics down into simple, logical steps and adapt my explanations to suit each student’s learning style. I use a mix of guided examples, active questioning, and exam-style practice to develop both confidence and exam technique. I also identify and target gaps in knowledge early, ensuring foundations are secure before progressing to more challenging material.
Typical lesson length:
Lessons are typically 60 minutes, although 45-minute or 90-minute sessions can be arranged depending on the student’s needs and workload.
Qualifications and experience:
I am a Qualified Secondary Mathematics Teacher with a PGCE and a First-Class Honours degree in Biomedical Science. I am currently a 4th-year medical student. I have extensive experience tutoring GCSE and A-Level students, as well as supporting younger students preparing for entrance exams.
Who the lessons are for:
I tutor students from Key Stage 2 through to A-Level, including GCSE Foundation and Higher tier, and 11+ entrance exam preparation. I also support students who need help rebuilding confidence in maths, as well as those aiming for top grades.

I needed to download Google Meet where the hourly lessons were held and to set up a WhatsApp between Genevieve and myself. Genevieve would send me a lesson request and I joined this easily at the set time. This process always ran very smoothly as, with no travelling involved, the lessons always started on time. The format of the lesson would start with Genevieve sending me a maths paper with set questions to be completed. Google Meet was live throughout the lesson so I could raise any issues. Once I completed the questions, we went through the answers and Genevieve corrected me where necessary with clear explanations and examples which helped improve my understanding.Peter (parent)
I am delighted to recommend Genevieve Sadler as an online maths tutor. Her knowledge, calm manner and connection with the student was significant in our choice. She tutored my daughter, Hannah, for about five months in the lead-up to Maths GCSE in 2025. We sought Genevieve’s help to pick up the shortfall from school lessons which had led to a lack of confidence and self belief.
The transformation in terms of our daughter’s confidence was evident within a few lessons with Genevieve and continued to improve. With the help of online tuition, our daughter achieved the GCSE Maths grade she needed to pursue her chosen subjects at A’level.I would definitely recommend Genevieve. Her classes were clear, well organized, and comprehensible. Even though there were some complicated topics during our lessons, she could easily make them understandable and easy to grasp. With time, my skills and knowledge improved significantly.
Thanks to the exam practice and support provided by Genevieve, I managed to rise from grade 4 to grade 7 in GCSE Maths.Genevieve was my GCSE maths tutor. I found the online format very efficient and the sessions very structured. She helped me get my grade from a 3 to a 7, and I started to enjoy the subject more as well. Genevieve went through every question I didn’t understand on a whiteboard, and I found this very helpful for learning. Before I sat the GCSEs, I felt very confident, and I'm very grateful for her help with my progress.
I honestly cant recommend Genevieve enough. I worked with her for two years leading up to my GCSEs, and she completely transformed both my confidence and ability in maths.
When I first started, I really struggled with certain topics and often lacked confidence in my own answers. She was incredibly patient, supportive and always explained things in a way that made them much easier to understand. She took the time to identify the areas I found most difficult and tailored each session to focus on those, which made such a big difference.
One of the most helpful parts of the tutoring was working through past papers together. This not only improved my understanding of the content but also prepared me for the style of GCSE exam questions and helped me feel much more confident going into my exams. She was always happy to answer any questions, no matter how small, and made me feel comfortable asking for help whenever I needed it.
Thanks to her support, I achieved the highest grade in Foundation Maths at GCSE, which I honestly don’t think I would have achieved without her. She genuinely cared about helping me succeed and always encouraged me to believe in myself.
I am so grateful for everything she did and would recommend her to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, dedicated and genuinely caring maths tutor.I highly recommend Genevieve - She tutored my son in years 10 - 11 for his Maths GCSE and under her expert guidance he achieved Grade 7.
She was great at explaining and really engaged him. He used to love Maths but a series of teachers who didn’t make the subject appealing to him meant unfortunately he lost interest and his grade deteriorated to a grade 5 which was really concerning. They got on really well and he was happy to do the tasks she set to ensure his understanding of the various units had a good foundation.
Genevieve was more than a tutor and engaged with the whole family and took a genuine interest in him and his future and has kept in touch since.
She gave him the confidence to get the grade he deserved and supported him through 2 very important school years for him. We were very lucky to have found her.Genevieve was an excellent tutor from the very beginning, she was very friendly and we got on excellently. The online sessions were still face-to-face (webcam on) allowing stronger discussion and overall teaching too.
Genevieve helped improve my confidence exponentially, and with guided practice and feedback on exam papers I was able to go from a grade 5 to a grade 7 by the end of Year 11.
Genevieve’s clear and concise tutoring style allowed me to attempt to reach the answer myself, only intervening to correct or guide where necessary, essential to build resilience and independence. When I was stuck, she was able to pull us back to the basics and help me understand. Furthermore, her past exam based homework held me accountable ensuring I got hours of focused revision done even outside her sessions. As well as allowing progress tracking, excellent for motivation and identifying areas to work on.
Her exam question/technique centric lessons prepared me for the exams expertly, where I used to suffer from timing issues and struggle with persevering on questions, her tuition helped me feel exam ready even several months prior.
Overall, Genevieve is an excellent tutor that reignited a spark for Maths that I forgot I had. However she is an even better individual: her kind and patient nature made sessions pleasant and low-pressure while ensuring I was ready for my exams.View more recommendations
