About Ella
I am a 21 year old student of German, French and Russian at the University of Warwick. I taught English conversation in the Black Forest for a year and have experience teaching English grammar and essay writing. I have also informally tutored in accent reduction and pronunciation (myself, I have an English 'home counties' accent).

In the first conversation class there will be a focus on natural conversation so that we can decide what we want to talk about in future classes and discuss where the student's strengths and weaknesses lie. I base my classes on a text or stimulus (photograph, question, song etc) prepared for discussion by both myself and my student, in the seminar style used by universities. The text or stimulus is chosen for its cultural or thematic properties according to the interests of the student, so if you are, for example, a business person or business student, we could focus more specifically on subjects you would need to talk about in real life.
The preparation should not take more than 20-30 minutes for every lesson. At the end of each lesson we will discuss what went well, was difficult/too easy and in which direction our next lesson will head.
As a student of foreign languages myself I am well aware of the challenges of oral communication, it can seem daunting or even stressful sometimes, but rest assured that I am a very relaxed, chatty, patient teacher with a good sense of humour.
