About Adele
I am a qualified secondary school teacher with over five years' experience teaching Art, Photography and Graphic Design, and I currently work as Head of Photography and Graphic Design at an Ofsted-rated Outstanding school.
I have extensive experience preparing students for GCSE qualifications and supporting them to develop ambitious, well-structured portfolios, both digitally and physically. My Photography, Graphic Design and Art students have consistently achieved excellent results, with 100% of my Photography students achieving or exceeding their target grades in 2023, 2025 and 2026.
I have completed AQA standardisation training in both 2023 and 2026, giving me a strong understanding of the assessment requirements and standards expected at GCSE. Student Photography and Graphic Design portfolios I have taught have also been selected by AQA as training examples.
Alongside my subject knowledge and experience, I am passionate about helping students develop confidence in their own creative ideas. I understand that creative subjects can feel quite different from more traditional academic subjects, particularly when a student is working independently, and I aim to provide clear guidance while allowing them to retain ownership of their work.
I am DBS checked through my current teaching role and committed to providing a professional, supportive and encouraging learning environment for every student.

My approach is supportive, individualised and focused on helping each student become a confident and independent creative. I adapt my teaching to suit each student's strengths, interests, learning needs and level of confidence, while encouraging them to develop their own ideas and creative voice.
For GCSE students, I focus on helping them understand the Assessment Objectives and how to demonstrate them effectively through their portfolio. Sessions can include project development, practical techniques, experimentation, artist/photographer research, annotation, digital editing, portfolio development and exam preparation.
I have extensive experience teaching students with a wide range of abilities and additional learning needs, and adapt my teaching and level of support accordingly. I aim to provide clear, constructive feedback so students understand not just what they could improve, but how to develop their work.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes, although 90 minute sessions can be particularly useful for practical portfolio development.
I primarily work with GCSE students aged 14-16, including home-educated students, and can also support younger students developing their creative skills and students working towards A-level or other post-16 creative qualifications.
I offer both online tuition and in-person sessions. I am based in Tameside and can travel to students across Tameside, Saddleworth, Oldham and surrounding areas for home visits. Online tuition is available throughout the UK.
