About Orla
I have a first-class honours degree in applied social care. I am currently working as a qualified social care worker for the HSE in an intellectual disability service. I have worked here for over 4 years and in a nursing home previous to that. I have loads of experience in the fields of social care. I have volunteered in addiction and homeless services and with CIH also. If you have any questions about my qualifications, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Social care is a job where much of the teaching is done in practice. I learned a lot through my time in volunteering and in my social care jobs. I base my classes around the level of need and goals of the class. I like to teach through experience. I believe theory is essential to form a strong basis of social care, but practice makes the theoretical aspects make sense. When you can relate theory to practice, you are on the way to being a great social care worker. I am flexible in my teaching ways and I can adjust my resources to the students' needs. At the moment, classes will be held online, but hopefully in the future, I will be able to hold face-to-face classes. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact me.
