About Mary
I'm a qualified teacher (with QTS), and have been working as a private tutor since 2014. During this time, I have worked with students of all ages, tutoring in French, Spanish, Classical Civilisation, Maths, and English.
My previous roles include:
- Teacher in a local secondary school
- Tutor for one of the top nationwide tuition centres (teaching maths and English)
- Mentor of a young person on the autism spectrum
- AQA GCSE French Oral examiner
- Language assistant for the British Council in France, teaching English as a foreign language
- Language assistant in a local primary school, teaching French

My teaching approach is entirely pupil-centred. I enjoy getting to know the individual pupil and take this process seriously, tailoring my lessons and resources to meet their specific needs and highlight their strengths.
I offer a 50% discount on the first lesson, and I spend some of this time discussing the subject, getting to know the pupil, and identifying how best I can support them in the following sessions.
After the trial lesson, I take advance monthly bookings.

Perfect! Mary is doing an amazing job helping Annie prepare for her GCSE in French!
She is passionate about the job in hand and goes above and beyond adding extra slides and resources encouraging Annie to study.
