I have experience living and teaching in different cultures so I am very open-minded and I have learnt from this experience the importance of being able to communicate with others in the language of that country. I love music and drama so I like to include them in lessons as it is an effective and motivating way to learn a language.

My Teaching Approach & Methodology
My lessons are student-centred, structured, and engaging, designed to build confidence while making real progress. I adapt my teaching to each learner’s goals, level, and learning style, whether that is academic success, exam preparation, conversational fluency, or professional use of the language.
I use a communicative approach, combining:
Speaking and listening practice from the very first lesson
Clear grammar explanations made simple and practical
Vocabulary building through real-life contexts
Reading and writing tasks adapted to age and level
For younger learners and students with SEND (ASD, ADHD, SEMH), I use clear routines, visual supports, repetition, and positive reinforcement. For teens and adults, lessons are purposeful, interactive, and goal-driven. I regularly assess progress and adjust lessons to ensure steady improvement.
Typical Length of a Lesson
Lessons usually last 60 minutes, which allows enough time for:
Warm-up and review
Introduction of new language or skills
Guided practice
Independent use and feedback
Longer or shorter sessions (45 or 90 minutes) can be arranged if preferred.
Qualifications & Experience
I am a fully qualified and highly experienced educator with over 25 years of teaching and tutoring experience in the UK and internationally.
Qualifications include:
MA in International Education – University of Sunderland (UK)
Overseas PGCE – University of Sunderland (UK)
CELTA – International House, London
BA (Double Honours) in French and Spanish – University of Manchester
I have taught Spanish, French, and English across primary, secondary, and adult education, including international schools, SEND settings, and private tuition. I am fluent in English, French, and Spanish, and experienced in exam preparation, school support, and confidence-building for reluctant learners.

Teenagers (Secondary) – GCSE / IGCSE support, writing, speaking, and exam preparation
Adults – beginners to advanced, conversational or professional purposes
