About Ruby
Hello!
I'm Ruby, a qualified secondary school teacher and Cambridge University PhD graduate. I have experience teaching English to secondary school students from Year 7 to Year 13, and Religion and Philosophy to university undergraduates.
Every learner is unique, and as a teacher and tutor I pride myself on tailoring my approach to meet the needs of each of my students. As your tutor I will take the time to get to know your strengths and areas to be improved, and will tailor our sessions to meet your outlook and learning style.
I believe that academic success stems not just from what you know, but what you do with it! Being able to efficiently and confidently plan an organised essay or exam response is a skill which will lift your attainment at GCSE, A-level and beyond. As your tutor I can coach you through the exam or coursework essay planning and writing process in a way which helps you to make the most of your knowledge.
As a secondary school English Teacher, I am well-versed in the common GCSE and A-Level syllabi. I also have a PhD in Philosophy of Religion from Cambridge University, where I specialised in the intersections of literature, philosophy and religion. At Cambridge I supervised undergraduate students, and was an interviewer for the Theology, Religion and Philosophy of Religion BA Tripos.
