About Nicole
I am Nicole, a Queen's University Biology student based in Oshawa, Ontario. My background uniquely bridges the logical, analytical framework of a scientist with the pedagogical training of a professional educator, allowing me to seamlessly teach both foundational K-8 mathematics and all levels of English literature and literacy.
In my sessions, I reject standard lectures in favor of student-led inquiry, play-based mathematical concepts for younger learners, and structured, step-by-step scaffolding for advanced essay writing and comprehension. A typical 60-minute lesson is carefully organized into a high-energy review warm-up, interactive concept discovery, supportive independent practice, and a final reflection where the student explains the concept back to me to ensure long-term mastery.
What sets me apart is my training in modern Ontario educational frameworks and my strong background in health and wellness. I design highly interactive, curriculum-aligned lessons that prioritize reducing academic anxiety, turning intimidating subjects into accessible concepts, and building genuine, long-term confidence.
