About Serenity
"Most musicians think that playing faster is the only way to improve, but technical mastery is actually about being incredibly slow and precise. My 11 years of teaching have taught me that building a solid foundation is the only shortcut to becoming a capable violinist. Holding a Master of Music in Music Performance from Queensland Conservatorium provides me with the theoretical depth to explain complex movements simply. Working with working professionals requires me to keep things efficient yet thorough.
I enjoy helping self-taught players find the structure they have been missing in their home practice. Performance-focused students benefit from my rigid attention to posture and hold. It is quite rewarding to see the transition from confusion to clarity.
I treat every technical challenge as a puzzle to be solved. Let us get to work on your technique."

"The first session starts with the scratchy sound of the bow meeting the string, which we immediately transform into a controlled, resonant tone. I use my conservatory background to audit your posture and shifting positions to ensure you are playing without tension. Rhythm and timing are checked against metronomic precision to build your internal clock.
Ear training and tuning by ear are essential components of our time together. We prioritize sight reading to make you a more versatile orchestral player. Intonation is nonnegotiable in my studio. A monthly progress report shared with parents keeps everyone aligned on your development, so stay focused on the music."
