Hi, I'm Rahini! I am a high school student with strong academic background, particularly in English, eager to tutor young children from the age of 3-10 how to write, read and analyse literary texts!

About Rahini
My hobbies include writing short stories, tennis, netball, listening to music etc. I love teaching and explaining and also have a passion for English. I would love to teach young children English because I really like working with them and I want to help more children excel in English.

When tutoring children, it’s important to consider their developmental stages, attention spans, learning styles and their learning pace. Therefore, I will be adapting a individualised approach by observing how each child learns and trying my best to accomodate to them so that they can achieve their full potential. Additionally, I believe that children do not learn if you directly tell them the answers, so to foster independent problem solving, I‘ll ensure the students receive gentle nudges towards what they need to do so they can engage critical thinking whilst still having guidance and so that they can make mistakes and learn from them. I’ll encourage the students to ask questions to also spark their sense of curiosity. I also hope to incorporate interactive and/or guided reading in my lessons to boost confidence (although if the child is not comfortable at all I won’t). I plan to utilise positive reinforcement and to be patient and supportive while teaching as I know young children may need extra time to grasp new concepts. Any feedback from the children and parents is welcome to improve future learning.
