About Jasmine
Hi! I’m Jasmine, a first-year University of Toronto student studying Sociology and French, as well as an aspiring teacher. I have experience teaching piano as well as tutoring to students of all ages.
As a piano tutor, I aim to create a supportive and enjoyable learning environment where students can build their skills and confidence at their own pace. I am patient and adaptable, and I adjust my lessons to each student’s age, experience, interests, and learning style.
Whether you’re completely new to piano or have some previous experience, I can help you develop your technique, sight-reading, rhythm, music theory, and overall confidence at the piano. I want my students to not only improve their musical abilities but also enjoy the process of learning and playing music.
I look forward to helping you reach your musical goals!

My teaching approach is patient, supportive, and adapted to each student’s individual learning style and goals. I focus on building a strong foundation in music while making lessons enjoyable and engaging. Depending on the student’s level, I incorporate techniques such as sight-reading, note recognition, rhythm exercises, scales, music theory, and learning songs. I also encourage students to develop good practice habits and confidence at the piano.
A typical lesson begins with a short warm-up, such as scales, finger exercises, or rhythm practice. We then review material from the previous lesson and work on any areas the student found challenging. The remainder of the lesson is spent learning and practising new material, which may include a new song, sight-reading, or music theory. I also provide students with clear goals and practice suggestions to work on between lessons.
I am patient and understanding, and I aim to create a positive environment where students feel comfortable learning at their own pace. Having experience teaching piano to children, I understand that every student learns differently. I try to make lessons enjoyable while still helping students develop strong musical skills, discipline, and confidence.
I offer piano lessons for beginner and elementary-level students, particularly children and young learners. Lessons can be adapted to students with little or no previous piano experience, as well as students who have some experience and want to continue developing their skills. I am happy to adjust lessons according to each student’s age, level, interests, and goals
