About Dana
I taught Elementary school for several different grades before becoming a reading specialist. I worked with grades Kindergarten through 8th grade individually and in small groups. When I finally made the choice to develop my own business, I tutored and taught teachers how to incorporate reading into their other subjects. I modeled lessons and worked with students privately after school. I have taught students from varying socioeconomic demographics. I have taught in urban, suburban and rural environments. It has been one of my greatest accomplishments to help students develop confidence and a genuine love of reading.

As an elementary school teacher with over 15 years of experience and a specialization in reading and writing I’m committed to your academic sucess. I’ve taught and helped 100’s of students learn to read, improve their reading skills and become life long learners. I would welcome the opportunity to help you as well. I also was a reading recovery teacher and will complete a comprehensive assessment to address where you need help. I work on comprehension, phonics, vocabulary, summarizing, character analysis, identifying plot and main ideas and context clues. I believe the best way to develop and improve reading skills is by reading different genres and choose books geared to improve and teach successful reading skills.
