About Samuel
Hi, I'm Samuel, I'm in my third year of medical school at Newcastle University. I received all four interviews for medical school and converted this into four offers, allowing me to pursue my dream career at my top choice university. My success here has given me confidence in my strategies and approach, and I am deeply committed to helping aspiring medical students achieve their top choice offers. Having successfully navigated the application process I understand the challenges faced by students who are preparing for the UCAT and interviews. I understand just how important it is to have effective and time-saving strategies for the UCAT, and how to utilise your revision so you are as optimally prepared as possible for the exam. Interviews also require a lot of practice and effective strategies, I know how to help you play to your strengths, and what you need to spend your revision time focusing on. I have extensive tutoring experience, having taught GCSE students and shared advice to numerous students on which universities to apply to based on their applications strengths and weaknesses. Navigating the medical school application is challenging. I offer guidance and teaching on every step of the way from GCSEs to A-levels, UCAT and interview practice. I also offer advice on which medical schools to apply to based on the strengths and weaknesses of your application in order to have the highest chances of success. Typically lessons last either one hour or two hours and are done once a week. Lesson Plan: • First lesson is FREE - I like to use the first lesson to get to know each other and find out exactly what you are looking to get out of the lessons so I can tailor my teaching approach, and so we can come up with a plan together for the future lessons. • Pre-lesson planning - Outlining what topics we would like to go through before the session in order to maximise the amount of time we have together. • Lessons - I use a variety of teaching methods in the lessons. I like to explain and talk through the difficult concepts, giving advice on how to approach the questions in an efficient way to build a foundation of the knowledge. I then like to talk through some questions together to ensure you have understood them, before getting you to put the learning into action and try exam style questions. I like to put a lot of emphasis on exam style questions and past papers as I believe these offer the best practice to prepare you for your exams. Homework - To ensure maximum understanding I find it is beneficial to set some questions for you to take away and work on, that we can then mark and talk through at the start of the following session.

Perfect! I had a great introductory lesson with Samuel. He jumped straight into UCAT practice, which made the session really focused and useful from the start. He explained things clearly and shared lots of helpful tips and strategies that I hadn’t considered before. It was a really productive first lesson and gave me a lot more confidence.
