About Ainur
I graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a Bachelor of Science in Cell and Developmental Biology on the pre-medical track. My coursework included biology, genetics, chemistry, organic chemistry, biochemistry, physics, mathematics, and psychology, with extensive upper-division biology courses. I also took multiple creative and nonfiction writing classes because I genuinely enjoy writing. Beyond lectures, I've completed many college-level laboratory courses, so I like connecting concepts to real experiments and applications instead of relying only on textbook definitions.
I'm currently taking a gap year before applying to graduate programs. I really enjoy helping K–12 students understand STEM subjects, whether that's preparing for a test, working through homework, or finally making sense of a topic that's been frustrating them. I always encourage questions because I think kids ask some of the most creative and profound questions, and I hope to nurture that curiosity rather than just teach them to memorize facts.
Most of my tutoring experience comes from helping my younger siblings and neighborhood students over the years. Teaching them showed me that no two students learn the same way, and sometimes all it takes is explaining something from a different perspective for it to click.
I've also been in their shoes. I took 10 AP classes in high school and graduated with a near-perfect GPA, so I understand the pace and expectations of challenging classes. More importantly, I know how overwhelming school can feel at times, and I want to help students feel more confident in their own ability to figure things out.

I enjoy working with students by asking thoughtful questions and encouraging them to explain their reasoning rather than simply giving answers. This helps me understand how they think, identify where misconceptions arise, and adapt my teaching to their individual learning style.
I strive to build students' confidence by creating an environment where they feel comfortable sharing their ideas and working through challenges. My lessons begin by assessing what a student already understands, then connecting that knowledge to new concepts in ways that make sense to them. Whether through colorful analogies, visual explanations, or connections to their own interests and experiences, I aim to make difficult topics feel approachable and memorable.
I hope to work primarily with middle and high school students because those were the years when my own passion for science first developed. I would love the opportunity to help students build not only a strong understanding of STEM subjects but also the curiosity and confidence that can inspire a lifelong love of learning.
