About Eva
As an ambitious woman in STEM with ADHD, I'm very familiar with the range of struggles students can face both in and out of the classroom which can make earning good grades seem like an overwhelmingly daunting task sometimes. My years of schooling, however, have taught me nothing if not that adaptability is the key to growth, and with the right mindset and the right guidance, any student has the capacity to succeed beyond even their own expectations.
When I'm tutoring you, I'm invested in helping you the same way my tutors have helped me in the past. Just like students, tutors aren't perfect: we blank on formulas and make incorrect calculations and confuse our terms sometimes. I firmly believe that making mistakes is an important part of the process, and through working together to figure out what we know and what we don't, we will ultimately come out the other side far more knowledgeable than we could've been if we had simply read the textbook. Accordingly, I promise to maintain an atmosphere of patience and understanding throughout every single session, and I look forward to everything that we will learn together.

As a peer tutor at my college, I was well-trained in the practices and techniques of a good tutor. I structure my sessions around first reviewing the areas in which the student feels they need the most help, establishing concrete goals for each day and developing a plan to continually revisit and solidify what they've learned so that, come test days, the student has a firm grasp on everything we've gone over together without having to spend too much time studying. I focus on helping students develop problem-solving habits and techniques that will assist them in any discipline, skills that I still employ regularly for myself in my post-graduate career.
In addition to my college tutoring experience, I have also worked with high school, middle school, and elementary school students and would be happy to work with students of any age. In addition to Math and Chemistry, I can also offer my services for the fields of Biology, Psychology, essay writing/proof reading and Spanish.
