About Millie
I graduated in May 2020 from Georgetown University's Walsh School of Foreign Service with highest honors in Environmental Policy and Latin American Studies. I began learning Spanish as a child and have lived and studied in Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Chile, Cuba, and Argentina. I gained fluency while studying abroad at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. I am currently pursuing a PhD at CU Boulder in High Alpine Hydrology and interning with INSTAAR in Science Communication.
I have substantial experience teaching and tutoring students of all ages and love to share my passions for learning and foreign language.

I am a firm believer in verbal, communication based learning. The U.S. foreign learning teaching philosophy, in my opinion, is overly grammar and syntax based, resulting in many students lacking verbal communication skills. As a teacher, I help my students gain comfort speaking fluently through conversational exercises, pronunciation training, and music/television based entertainment. In my experience, this approach is extremely successful in establishing verbal, written, and reading proficiency.
