About Cecilia
As a current college graduate with extensive experience working with youth, my approach to tutoring is centered around building trust, encouraging active participation, and creating a positive learning environment. I have 9 years of experience in working with kids from 0-13. In my previous roles—whether babysitting, volunteering at a refugee development center, or mentoring youth—I’ve developed strong communication skills and a deep understanding of how to support students in their academic and personal growth. I bring that same energy and dedication to each tutoring session. My personalized method combines interactive learning with practical exercises to help students understand key concepts they are learning while keeping them engaged.
I use open communication with the student and parents. I tailor each session based on their current level of understanding, while also building their strength so they can advance!
A typical lesson with me would begin with a brief review of previous material to ensure understanding, followed by an introduction of new content. I incorporate fun and creative exercises, such as games, songs, or storytelling, to help students grasp vocabulary and grammar in a way that feels enjoyable. What sets me apart is my patience and dedication to making sure students not only learn, but understand the material.
