About Nathan
Hello I'm Nathan!
Growing up I was torn apart between the decision to become a musician or scientist. I spent most of my years contemplating this decision and thought of many reasons why I should be one and not the other. To my surprise I actually became a bit of both!
If you struggle with a certain aspect of academics, know that you are not alone!
I was rejected from my school's "Gifted & Talented" program because I would take too long during tests trying to solve a problem 4 different ways; but I scored very well on my exams and continuously placed first in the science fair every year. I even passed my AP exams with flying colors and was one of the only students in my grade to score a 5 (max score).
In high school I would always get last chair in my violin section (the very back of the violins). This was a bit upsetting for me as I would practice 8 hours a day. I even made regionals and state every year, and was one of the only violinist in my orchestra to accomplish that. I wasn't "naturally gifted" like many of my colleagues in the front of the section. The feeling of putting everything I had and still feel like I was falling behind was very detrimental in many ways. It wasn't until I was in college when I learned that learning is a personal journey.
I was always placed in the back by someone who thought they knew me better than me. I'm here to tell you that your education is a personal experience that only you will experience. Learn what you can and study what you can't. Stay motivated and optimistic because only you can determine your self worth!

Why is math and physics so hard to learn? It is not because you are bad with numbers, or because the universe likes to bend its rules to spite you. It's actually because you are an incredibly observant person! Allow me to explain...
We as humans walk this life making mental notes of everything going on around us. Then, when we experience a similar event we anticipate the outcome with what has already happened. The problem here is what we see isn't always what is happening behind the scenes.
In my years of experience as a learning assistant and tutor, I found students find it easier to comprehend a topic when provided relatable examples or experiences. It is my goal as an educator to analyze these experiences with you and find more that will permanently change how you see the world!
