About Shay
I am a passionate student and learner who was the class of 2019 valedictorian of Frank McCourt High School on the Upper West Side. At the University of Michigan, I built upon my academic success by earning a bachelor's degree in Economics (3.8 GPA) while holding multiple leadership positions in business-related clubs. While I am a dedicated student and the primary goal is for my clients to learn, I also consider myself very personable and love to meet new people. I hope to make the experience not only educational but also as enjoyable for the student as it can be. Outside of work, I enjoy watching and playing sports, reading dystopian fiction novels, listening to current events and sports-related podcasts, and exploring all that NYC has to offer with friends and family.

My lessons are catered toward high school sophomores-seniors who may feel overwhelmed by the number of quality options in higher education. By crafting a specific narrative, my students will be able to stand out in the application process. These lessons can include test preparation, widdling-down of schools, and relevant essay writing. I am also more than happy to adapt my teaching methods based on the specifications of the parent and/or student.
