About Rose
My name is Rose Finnegan, and I am a 20-year-old recent History Graduate from University College London, where I achieved a First-Class degree. I have a genuine passion for history and enjoy exploring how lessons from the past continue to shape the world today.
My aim as a tutor is to make history engaging, accessible, and relevant while helping students build confidence in their abilities. Having achieved a Grade 9 in GCSE History and an A* at A Level, I understand what exam boards are looking for and can help students develop a strong understanding of key topics, improve their analytical thinking, and master the essay-writing skills needed to achieve top grades. As I completed these qualifications relatively recently, I remember the challenges students face and can explain complex ideas in a clear and approachable way.
In addition to History, I also offer English tutoring. I achieved a Grade 9 in GCSE English and an A at A Level, and I can support students with both literary analysis and essay writing, helping them improve their confidence, writing style, and exam technique.

I believe every student learns differently, so I tailor each lesson to suit their individual needs and learning style. Whether you learn best through discussion, visual resources, or step-by-step explanations, I adapt my approach to help you understand and retain key concepts. My lessons are interactive and encouraging, with plenty of opportunities to ask questions, develop ideas, and build confidence. I break down complex topics into manageable sections, ensuring students have a solid understanding before moving on to more challenging material. I also provide constructive feedback and practical exam strategies to help students improve their essay writing and achieve their academic goals. I offer tutoring for students of all ages, with a particular focus on GCSE and A-level History.
