About Maura
I graduated magna cum laude with Bachelors degrees in Spanish Language and Biology from Santa Clara University. I was a Chemistry tutor for over two years through my university, where I formed strong connections with my students as I helped them excel in their notoriously difficult STEM classes. Additionally, I led Spanish conversation groups where students at all levels could practice Spanish. I lived in Spain for four months in 2018 where I exclusively took classes in Spanish and lived with a host family. Through this experience, my Spanish skills were rigorously tested and both my fluency and my love for learning Spanish increased. Learning Spanish is my passion and I would love to share that with my students.

I tutor any grades up to grade 12! My approach as a tutor is to make learning Spanish as comfortable and exciting as possible. Learning a new language should be fun! I encourage speaking as much as possible, since I believe that is the best way to learn Spanish. Building a strong foundation of vocabulary and grammar is also essential to gaining proficiency in Spanish, and we will be sure to focus on this aspect.
