About Bethan
I tutor A-Level and GCSE students because I know how tumultuous and sometimes daunting this stage of life can be. Balancing school work and university or job applications alongside personal commitments is a hard task, and I want to make that easier for you however I can. Having myself studied English Literature and Classical Civilisation at A-Level prior to my time at university, my subject-specific expertise as well as general essay writing skills mean that I am able to work with you to improve your performance and confidence in either subject.

My approach to tutoring varies according to each student's personal needs. I like to begin with every new student with a free 30-minute consultation session during which we can get to know each other and you can lay out what it is you are looking for from me- from there we can decide the best approach. I am familiar with course specifications and mark schemes for both English Literature and Classical Civilisation A-Levels, as well as English GCSE (all exam boards) and have 2 years experience as a part-time self-employed private tutor in these subjects. Together we can work on day to day homework tasks, practice exam papers and work on general understanding of the course and course content- all with the end goal of ensuring your confidence in your ability to do the very best in your exam. Another part of what I offer is my university application guidance, having had 5 successful UCAS offers including Cambridge University and St. Andrews. Whatever it is you wish to study at university, and wherever it is you wish to apply, I can provide advice at all stages of the applications- most importantly providing personal statement feedback and writing sessions. My lessons range in length between 30 and 90 minutes depending on what it is we are working on in that session.
