About Daisy
Throughout GCSE and A Level English, my passion for the subject has hugely intensified, and I'm sure will only continue to do so at degree level. Such passion is one that I am keen to translate into my role as a Tutor of English, amalgamated with my experience of handling British and American drama, prose and poetry, close reading and linking to critical interpretations.
Having obtained outstanding Grade 9 results in English Language and Literature GCSE, as well as a predicted A* in English Literature A Level, which I intend to continue studying at degree level in September, I have an inexplicable interest for the subject. As such, having the opportunity to tutor would provide me with a facility through which I could express my passion for literature and language to others.
In September 2021, I was scouted by my A Level English teacher to tutor one of her weaker GCSE students via Microsoft Teams, and he later went on to obtain a grade 7. This demonstrates my previous success, working as both a GCSE tutor and an A Level student, which gave me a sense of familiarity and relatability to my tutees. Thus, having only recently finished my A Levels, I believe my fresh experience as a student will only benefit my tutoring skills, for I have a sound understanding of young ages and academic abilities, and how I must adapt to suit each individual appropriately.

I am a patient, conscientious and passionate tutor with the principal aim of facilitating my students' success! My lessons are usually an hour long, though able to be negotiated, and will provide students with both the fundamental, and advanced, skills needed in order to excel as a Literature student. In line with the GCSE and A Level examinations, lessons will adopt a focus on close reading of drama, poetry and prose, comparative literature and interpretation of critical readings. As such, tutoring GCSE English Literature or A Level English Literature students would be best suited to my skill set.
