About Holly
I am a 22-year-old student currently completing their Master's Degree in History at Queen's University Belfast. I achieved a 2:1 in my undergrad, also at QUB, studying History and Archaeology. I specialise in modern Irish history, the Irish potato famine, the Soviet Union, Weimar and Nazi Germany and have a huge interest in the history of cinema, culture and gender studies.

My main teaching method would be to provide a basic summary of each topic and to build upon each topic as the student grasps each concept, ie building upon their knowledge with every lesson. This would be done by starting off with charts/spider diagrams/bullet-point summaries and further expanding upon each point within these diagrams to give the student sufficient knowledge for each sub-field within the topic.
Discussing essay technique is also essential, particularly for GCSE and A-Level students. Repetition is a key element of becoming a good historian as you must perfectly execute the art of writing a good essay and remembering to include the crucial ingredients that make for a good essay- ie.. point, explanation, evaluation and use of source/quote/evidence to back up original point.
