About Debra
I love teaching! I taught for many years in grades 3rd through 8th. I then became a teacher on special assignment.
As a teacher on special assignment, I provided teacher training for teachers in grades K through 8th grade. This also provided me the opportunity to teach kindergarten through 8th grade students!
I now have the time to teach you one-on-one. As always, I will be dedicated to facilitating your learning and success.

I am skilled at assessing students’ academic needs and providing targeted instruction to move them to the next level of competency. Lessons will include academic and content language instruction as well as core content instruction. My instructional method is based on Explicit Direct Instruction. This means learners will be provided explanations, instruction and examples, followed by modeled practice (I do-you watch), followed by guided practice (we do), then when your ready, independent practice (you do-I watch).
